A citizen died after his sports vehicle overturned in Wafra (Umm Qadeer area). The victim was reportedly being chased by police for committing an offence and in a vain attempt to escape, he lost control over his vehicle.
The Al-Rai daily said this happened after the Operations Department of the Ministry of Interior received a report about reckless driving.
The victim was driving a sports car bearing Gulf plate numbers and as police reached the area, the suspect in an attempt to escape lost control of his vehicle which overturned and killed him on the spot.
The investigator and forensic evidence men moved to the site and referred the corpse for post mortem. The officer driving the patrol has been detained for interrogation.
