Kuwait is holding exhibitions, starting with a plan to qualify and train citizens in the area of tourism, in addition to developing the classification of hotel establishments, in line with the needs of visitors as part of efforts to reorganize and advance the tourism sector in Kuwait, to keep pace with developments and entertainment in the region.

These trends were the subject of discussion during the meeting of the Assistant Undersecretary for the Tourism Sector at the Ministry of Information, Saud Al-Khaldi, with the Secretary-General of the World Tourism Organization, Zurab Pololikashvili, and the Director of the Regional Department for the Middle East at the United Nations World Tourism Organization, Basma Al-Maiman, on the sidelines of the activities of the International Tourism Festival (Vitor) in Madrid, reports Al-Qabas daily.

Al-Khalidi said that he discussed the use of the organization’s advisory expertise and studies to reorganize the tourism sector in Kuwait and enhance cooperation with it, indicating that he presented ideas during the meeting, including the establishment of tourism exhibitions in Kuwait, under the umbrella of the organization, on tourism products, and focusing on what distinguishes Kuwait for the tourism products in terms of food and marketing.

Al-Khalidi explained that the possibility of qualifying and training national cadres in the field of tourism and hospitality, activating tourism investment, as well as benefiting from the programs offered by the organization, in line with the tourism developments of regional countries, and developing the classification of hotel establishments, in accordance with the needs of guests, and the latest standards, has been explored.
