Kuwait has updated the strategy of the Basic Petrochemical Industry Company which stresses on the need to grow in basic petrochemical products and reach at least 14.5 million tons of the total products annually until the year 2040 in order to enhance Kuwait’s position globally.
An official oil source told a local Arabic daily Kuwait also aims to grow in the specialized petrochemical industry with advanced technology and high economic returns by entering into partnerships with a global partner in this field and reaching at least 102 million tons, so that 15% is manufactured inside Kuwait by 2040.
Moreover, Kuwait holds a leading position in the production of some petrochemical products at the regional and global level through the factories of the Kuwait Petrochemical Industries Company and its around the world, which produce nearly 9 million tons petrochemical products annually.
