Kuwait University announced the death of a student in a Ministry of Health hospital after she fell inside the university campus in Sabah Al-Salem University City.

The university said in a statement that the university’s medical teams tried in vain to revive her, and preliminary investigations indicated that it may be a case of suicide, reports a local Arabic daily.

Informed sources said attempts to rescue the 19-year-old female student and discourage her from committing suicide were unsuccessful, as the present students tried to prevent her, but she escaped from them and fell from the second floor.

The Director of Kuwait University, Dr. Youssef Al-Roumi, on behalf of the university family, offers my sincere condolences and sympathy to the student’s family, asking God Almighty to bless the soul of the deceased with his mercy, and to inspire her family and relatives patience and solace.

In this context, Dr. Shamlan Al-Qena’i, the head of the university’s faculty members’ association, called for the necessity of having a fully equipped temporary field hospital, ambulances, and even an air ambulance inside the Shaddiyah campus.
