The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) is expected to implement the government’s decision taken on Thursday to allow the entry of residents from the beginning of August, Al Anbaa daily reported.

The sources told the daily that this would lead to the start of direct flights from various countries and abolishment of the list of high-risk countries so that the criterion for entry is vaccination from the vaccines approved by the health authorities and a valid residence permit.

The opportunity has become favorable for all airlines operating in Kuwait for the operating of commercial flights. The DGCA would start the operation for incoming and outgoing flights to all countries.

The cabinet decision to limit the number of arrivals to the country at 5,000 is still in effect. The sources said that the daily operations do not reach the level of arrivals currently but it is expected that the number will reach after the start of flights from all countries.

Kuwait has a plan to open the air and cancel the list of high-risk countries after reaching the vaccination rates for citizens and residents of more than 70%.
