CEO World magazine’s latest rankings for 2023 have crowned Kuwait as the richest Arab city, securing the 84th spot globally. With a robust gross domestic product (GDP) of $166.45 billion, Kuwait outshines its regional counterparts, including Riyadh, Jeddah, Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Cairo, reported Al-Rai Daily.

Riyadh secured the 86th rank with a GDP of $163.47 billion, while Jeddah followed closely at 89th place with $160.61 billion. Abu Dhabi and Dubai made appearances at 110th and 129th positions, boasting GDPs of $119 billion and $102.67 billion, respectively. Cairo held the 130th spot with a GDP of $102 billion.

Tokyo, Japan claimed the throne as the world’s wealthiest city in 2023, commanding a staggering GDP of $2.05 trillion. New York City and Los Angeles trailed behind in second and third place globally, flaunting GDPs of $1.99 trillion and $1.12 trillion, respectively.

The magazine pointed out that cities like Paris, Seoul, Chicago, Shanghai, and Singapore significantly shape the global economic narrative. Acting as hubs for trade, business, and innovation, these metropolises amalgamate culture, technology, and innovation, fueling formidable economies and influencing global dynamics.
