Spokesman for the Kuwaiti Ministry of Health Dr. Abdullah AlSanad announced on Wednesday that 1,517 new coronavirus (Covid-19) infections, 1,325 recoveries and six deaths were recorded over the past 24 hours.

The total infections rose to 241,469 and death toll to 1,379, he told KUNA, noting that the overall recoveries climbed to 226,026. Up to 207 patients are being treated at intensive care units, he said, elaborating that there are 14,064 cases at hospitals. The number of medical swabs conducted over the past 24 hours hit 10,432, taking the total tests to 2,121,475, he pointed out.

The ratio of cases among swabs over the past 24 hours reached 14.5 percent, he stated. Al-Sanad renewed the call for both citizens and residents to continue abiding by precautionary measures, avoiding gatherings, and keeping physical distance. He urged people to visit official accounts of the ministry to be briefed on guidelines and instructions regarding the coronavirus pandemic.
