On the first night of the end of the curfew on 30 August imposed for months, the streets and main roads in Kuwait were busy with activity, young people and families were dining out at restaurants, while others took long walks on the beaches. Many citizens and expats left the houses at midnight to walks across the open spaces, while the youth preferred to sit in cafés to drink coffee and eat food. The restaurants scattered across the coastline were also filled with customers.

On the other hand, there was a remarkable turnout from citizens and expats on the seafronts, many of whom stayed up until the early hours of the morning. Many were joyful as they were able to resume their normal routine, and could enjoy the evening with the end of the curfew.

In commercial complexes, prior to closing at ten in the evening, the Avenues, Marina, Al Kout and 360 Complex, in addition to the markets spread in Salmiya, Hawalli, Fahaheel and other areas were thronged with a large gathering of citizens and expats. It was also striking that the sales of markets and cooperative societies increased dramatically with the lifting of the partial curfew in the country.

While enjoying the return to normal and freedom to move without restrictions, residents adhered to health requirements, social distancing and wearing masks.
