The Director of Funeral Affairs at Kuwait Municipality, Dr. Faisal Al-Awadi, affirmed that the administration applies health requirements in all cemeteries without exception. It also allows all religions to be buried according to their laws, Al-Rai reported.

Al-Awadi revealed, in a statement to the daily that although Buddhists are allowed to perform their rituals during the burials the administration has rejected a recent request to allow Buddhists and Hindus to burn the bodies of their dead by using modern incineration tools such as electric ovens. Kuwait banned this cremation action from the early 1980s to the present day.
