The first direct flights of Kuwait Airways arrived from London on Saturday, carrying dozens of stranded citizens and their first-degree relatives,  Al-Qabas daily reported.

An official source told the daily that the London trip is the first direct flight from any banned country. These trips are for the repatriation of stranded citizens and their first-degree relatives, and this does not mean the return of commercial trips with the ban countries.

The source stated that the arrival of flights proceeded according to the operating plan drawn up by the Kuwait International Airport. After the reception of the passengers, data were checked and registered on the “Shlonik” app. PCR examination certificate was rechecked and additional swabs were taken.

The source indicated that the 26 flights are expected to arrive today, Sunday.
