National Assembly Speaker Marzouq Ali Al-Ghanim announced on Tuesday that the interpellation motion against Minister of Commerce and Industry Khaled Al- Roudhan would be included in the parliament session on March 19.
Speaking to journalists at Abdullah Al-Salem Hall, the speaker said he had implemented measures in this respect as stipulated by the parliament by-laws, informing the minister about the scheduled session.
Although the speaker has announced enlisting the motion in the March 19 session, he has indicated that the step should not signal that the grilling will certainly take place, saying that debating the interpellation will be deteremine according to the by-laws, requests of the minister to be quizzed and the assembly resolutions in this respect.
Turning to other levels, he said cooperation among the MPs would lead to enactment of a large number of laws, hoping to see the largest number possible of legislations endorsed in the coming two days’ sessions for enhancing the assembly performance.
Shortly earlier, Minister Al-Roudhan affirmed that MPs enjoy supervisory powers namely the “genuine” right of interpolating the executive authority.
