The Hajj and Umrah offices and travel and tourism companies, saw a big demand by citizens and residents to perform Umrah during the national holidays, especially since the holidays were 9 days and coincided with the anniversary of the Isra and Mi’raj, which made the opportunity favorable for everyone to perform Umrah.
The sources told Al-Anba the demand for travel reservations for Umrah, whether by land or air, witnessed an increase at rates that reached 80%, driven by 3 main reasons:
1- Facilitating travel and return procedures by Kuwait
2- The holidays were relatively long, which stimulated the interest of citizens and residents to perform Umrah, as the holiday period allowed visiting both Makkah and Medina.
3- Competitive prices were available once again and that attracted a large segment of residents to the Hajj and Umrah trips.
The sources said that the Umrah trips by land provided 3 programs, with varying lengths of time, to suit the largest possible number of potential customers, at prices ranging between 120 and 135 dinars in 3-star hotels and central hotels.
The 120 dinars Umrah included a five-day trip, including two nights in Makkah and one night in Madinah, while another trip extended over seven days, at a cost of up to 128 dinars, including 3 nights in Makkah and two nights in Madinah, up to an Umrah trip at a cost of 135 dinars for 10 days, which includes 6 nights in Mecca and 2 nights in Medina.
