The municipal council on Monday approved forming an interim committee to preserve the country’s history and heritage sites. The decision was taken at a session chaired by the deputy chairman, Abdullah Al-Mehri.

The five-member temporary commission will be in charge of specifying heritage locations in the capital, in addition to pinpointing locations of neighborhoods in old Kuwait, as well as naming streets and all spots at the popular market Al-Mubarakiya.
