The National Assembly renewed Wednesday confidence in Minister of Public Works and State Minister for Youth Affairs Ali Al-Mousa. The voting results were 22 votes for the motion of no-confidence and 21 against it, out of total of 43 attendees.
Article 101 of the Kuwaiti constitution stipulates that in case a no-confidence motion is passed, the designated minister shall be deemed relieved of his ministry from that very date and shall submit his resignation immediately. The constitutional article also states that to withdraw confidence from a cabinet minister, a majority of members present shall say “yes” during a no-confidence vote, but cabinet ministers are exempt from the vote. – KUNA
