A new crisis has surfaced in Kuwait because the names mentioned in the Ministry of Health Corona Vaccination Certificates do not match, in some cases, the names in the passports and Civil IDs.

Sources told “Al-Rai” that the problem appeared in particular when people travelling to London were prevented from boarding the plane and were forced to return home after the authorities discovered the Latin characters in the passports names did not match the vaccination certificates because the visa with which the traveller will enter the country and the PCR certificate will not be identical.

Passengers who were returned due to name errors spoke to Al-Rai about their loss of large sums of money in terms of ticket, hotel reservation, PCR test fee and wondered “Why does the Ministry of Health not have an office at the airport to correct these errors.

Why aren’t there electronic solutions by communicating (online) for correcting names instead of turning away passengers from the airport and informing them to check with the Vaccination Center in Mishref to correct the names.

The Ministry of Health stated in a statement that “there is a link between the National Vaccination Campaign and the Public Authority for Civil Information for the data of the vaccinators, which appears automatically on the registration site, as soon as the civil number and serial number are entered upon registration.

The ministry stated that “any data in the vaccination certificate is modified by visiting the Kuwait Center for Covid-19 Vaccination in Mishref.

However, supporting documents for any modification or addition must be submitted.
