The Kuwaiti Health Ministry on Saturday reported 4,445 new Coronavirus (Covid-19) cases, pushing the country’s tally of confirmed cases so far to 574,587. The number of recoveries also went up by 5,150 to 518,170, the ministry’s Spokesman Dr. Abdullah Al-Sanad said in a statement to KUNA, adding that recovery-to-infection ratio hit 90.2 percent.

The spokesman added that three more deaths due to the virus were confirmed over the last 24 hours, taking the death rate to 2,508 since the outbreak of the viral illness. In addition, 86 patients are languishing in intensive care units (ICUs) and 53,909 cases are receiving medical care at home, while Covid-19 wards are home to 549 patients, Dr. Al-Sanad noted. Medical teams, further, conducted 30,046 swab tests in the last 24 hours, bringing the country’s overall tests so far to 7,082,185, he added.
