Kuwait’s daily coronavirus cases rose by 33 to 411,605 as total deaths remained unchanged at 2,448, the health ministry said on Wednesday.

Another 40 people were cured of the virus, raising the total of those to have overcome the disease to 408,499, according to ministry spokesperson Dr. Abdallah Al-Sanad in a statement.

The number of people hospitalised with the virus at COVID-19 wards is 39, with nine of them in intensive care units, he added, revealing that another 658 are receiving regular treatment.

Some 16,506 swab tests were conducted over the last day out of a total of 4,232,071, mentioned the official.

He went on to urge nationals and expatriates alike that abiding by health precautions, mainly, following social distancing rules, is the only way to halt the spread of the virus.
