Up to 1,348 people were diagnosed as infected with the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in Kuwait over the past 24 hours, bringing the tally of the cases to 610,801, the Ministry of Health declared on Friday. The ministry spokesperson, Dr. Abdullah Al-Sanad, said in a statement to KUNA that the medical authorities recorded 4,522 new recovery cases, with the whole count of those cured from the infection amounting to 584,578, noting that proportion of the whole count of the healed from among the overall infections reached 95.7 percent.

He reported two new deaths with the COVID-19 infection, raising the death toll to 2,572, adding that the number of the patients treated at intensive care units reached 89, while number of the hospitalized cases amounted to 23,696. Meanwhile, 344 patients were
reported in the COVID-19 wards. Dr. al-Sanad also reported 22,593 fresh swab tests, putting the whole number of the examinations at 7.426,449, while the proportion of the infection as compared to the tests reached six percent.
