Kuwait’s daily coronavirus cases rose by 101 to 409,961 as deaths increased by one to 2,420, the health ministry said on Wednesday.

Another 252 people were cured of the virus, raising the total of those to have overcome the disease to 405,320, according to ministry spokesperson Dr. Abdallah Al-Sanad in a statement.

The number of people hospitalised with the virus at COVID-19 wards is 171, with 84 of them in intensive care units, he added, revealing that another 2,221 are receiving regular treatment.

Some 12,561 swab tests were conducted over the last day out of a total of 3799129, mentioned the official.

He went on to urge nationals and expatriates alike that abiding by health precautions, mainly, following social distancing rules, is the only way to halt the spread of the virus.
