Kuwait topped the 3rd GCC Games, winning seven new medals; three gold and three bronze and one silver Sunday in fencing and karate contests, and bagging a total of 84 varied medals throughout the championship.
Kuwaiti athletes snatched 31 gold, 23 silver and 30 bronze medals in total, while Bahrain came second with 20 gold, 21 silver and 16 bronze.
The UAE ranked third with 18 gold, 15 silver and 11 bronze, followed by Qatar with 14 gold, 20 silver and 14 bronze.
Oman ranked fifth with 12 gold, five silver and 12 bronze followed by Saudi Arabia with 11 gold, 19 silver and 26 bronze.
The tourney, which is due to conclude Tuesday, includes 16 men’s contests and seven others for women in several games like athletics, handball, volleyball, basketball, shooting, swimming, judo, tennis and others. – KUNA
