The trading partners of Iran in the region are Iraq, Kuwait, Qatar, the UAE, Bahrain and Saudi Arabia, with goods approaching 61 million tons, valued at $32 billion, in the fiscal 2021-2022.

The report of the Iranian Financial Tribune website stated that the UAE was the top trading partner of Tehran among the countries of the region with 23.4 million tons worth 21.4 billion dollars during the same period, followed by Iraq with goods volume of 32.5 million tons worth 10.1 billion dollars, and then Kuwait in third place with 3.6 million tons worth 172.8 million dollars, reports a local Arabic daily.

The report pointed out that Iran’s total exports in fiscal 2021-2022 was 45.4 million tons of merchandise, valued at $14.1 billion, while Iraq was Tehran’s main export destination, with 28.8 million tons merchandise, worth $8.9 billion, followed by the UAE with 10.7 million tons, worth $4.9 billion; Kuwait with 2.5 million tons of goods worth $158 million, Qatar with 1.8 million tons of goods worth 133.6 million dollars, Bahrain with 14.4 thousand tons of goods worth 9.7 million dollars, and Saudi Arabia 429 tons of goods worth 41.4 thousand dollars.
