Kuwait secured the fourth position among Gulf and Arab nations and ranked 60th globally on the list of the world’s best countries to reside in, as per The Statehood Index StIx.

This achievement was marked by a score of 0.70 points, while the index characterized Kuwaiti institutions’ performance quality as moderate, reports Al-Rai daily.

Conducted under the umbrella of a research endeavor named The Statehood Index StIx, issued by Germany’s University of Würzburg, this evaluation involved experts assigning ranks to 173 countries based on their proficiency in meeting fundamental populace needs. Additional criteria considered encompassed the rule of law, crime rates, violence, governance, and others.

This comprehensive index gauges the efficacy of institutions and a nation’s capacity to establish and uphold laws legislated by the system. It serves as a tool for gauging state excellence by amassing detailed data to foster performance comparison and policy analysis.

Regionally, the United Arab Emirates clinched the top spot, securing the 32nd global rank. Oman followed at 48th globally, trailed by Qatar at 52nd, Kuwait at 60th, and Saudi Arabia at 63rd.

At the pinnacle of the worldwide rankings was Singapore, shadowed by Australia in second place, Denmark in third, the Netherlands in fourth, and Estonia in fifth, while Luxembourg, Norway, Belgium, New Zealand, and Germany dominated the remaining spots within the top ten.

The United States held the 23rd rank, while Taiwan secured the 43rd spot, surpassing China, which stood at 61st, post Kuwait. Conversely, South Sudan landed at the index’s base, holding the 171st position, with Yemen following at 172nd, and Libya at the 173rd position.
