The Kuwaiti Ministry of Health said on Saturday that 5,808 more people tested positive for COVID-19 over the past 24 hours, taking the country’s caseload to 534,062. Some 5,547 more patients recovered from the virus to up the number of those to have overcome the disease to 481,137, said the ministry’s Spokesman Dr. Abdullah Al-Sanad to KUNA, adding that the recovery to positive case ratio stands at 90.1 percent.

Two fatalities linked to the respiratory virus raised the country’s death toll from the pandemic to 2,494, while 469 people are hospitalized with the virus, 84 of whom are in intensive care units, he told KUNA. Some 31,198 swab tests were conducted over the last day, out of a total of 6,853,435 so far, added the spokesman.
