The US State Department has approved the sale to Kuwait of heavy tactical vehicles worth $445 million, manufactured by the US company Oshkosh Defense, according to the govconwire website, Al-Rai daily reported.

The Defense Security Cooperation Agency stated that the deal includes the purchase of 517 tactical trucks for extended heavy mobility and heavy equipment carriers to support the transport of goods, vehicle recovery, and resupply operations for the Kuwaiti land force.

The Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) added that the sale will include fuel tank trucks, guided-missile transport trucks, commercial trailers, pallet loading system trailers, and weapon flatbeds.

The proposed deal includes a request to deploy up to 15 contract employees to provide training, fleet support, program management, and facility construction supervision services to Kuwait over a five-year period.
