Kuwait laid to rest last Friday Sharifa Mulla Saleh Al-Mulla, the first female Kuwait pilot whose life was full of achievements and national giving.

She was the first Kuwaiti woman to study aviation and obtain an aircraft pilot’s license. The deceased had studied economics in Britain, with the support and encouragement of her father, Mulla Saleh, and later became a pioneer in business, reports Al-Qabas daily.

The late Al-Mullah was an inspiring woman in the area of struggle for self-realization and always believed in “Nothing is impossible for the strong-willed Kuwaiti woman”. She fulfilled many aspirations and achievements at a time when the world did not offer women many educational and social opportunities.

When in high school in Kuwait, her late father, Saleh Al-Mulla, used her as his private secretary when he was the Secretary of the Government of Kuwait at the time, and she helped him in many of his works.

At the beginning of her educational life, and after obtaining high school, she traveled to Britain and enrolled at Cambridge University, where she majored in political science and economics.

There was a private airport in Cambridge for training, and watching young men of her age train on small planes of the type that were used in World War II, then she joined the aviation training.

She was supportive of women’s issues and society, and was known for her humility and good deeds.
