His Highness the Crown Prince, Sheikh Mishaal Al-Ahmad, paid a visit to the British Prime Minister, Rishi Sunak, at the Prime Minister’s headquarters in the British capital, London.

At the outset of the meeting, the Crown Prince conveyed the greetings of His Highness the Amir, Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad, to King Charles III, King of the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland.

For his part, British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak expressed his happiness with this visit, stressing the strength of the historical relations that extend for more than 100 years between the two friendly countries. He also expressed his aspiration for more joint cooperation between the State of Kuwait and the United Kingdom.

During the meeting, they discussed the distinguished relations between Kuwait and the United Kingdom in all fields, reflecting the depth of the close historical relations between the two peoples and the two friendly countries. A number of issues of common concern and the latest developments on the regional and international arenas were also discussed. His Highness was accompanied by members of the accompanying official delegation.

The meeting reflected the spirit of understanding and friendship, in a scene that embodied the aspiration of the two sides for more cooperation and coordination at various levels to strengthen the course of bilateral relations and opening broader horizons for joint cooperation.

Kuwait and the United Kingdom affirmed the continuation of joint coordination on regional and international issues, events and developments, and work together to strengthen relations and historical partnership.

In the presence of His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Mishaal Al-Ahmad and British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, a memorandum of understanding for investment partnership between Kuwait and the United Kingdom was signed at the Prime Minister’s residence at 10 Downing Street.

The agreement was signed on behalf of the Kuwaiti government by Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Oil, Minister of State for Economic Affairs and Investment, Acting Minister of Finance Dr. Saad Al-Barrak, and on behalf of the UK government, Minister of Investment Lord Dominic Johnson.

The signing of the agreement was attended by Foreign Minister Sheikh Salem Al-Abdullah, Advisor at the Amiri Diwan Muhammad Abdullah Abu Al-Hassan, Director of the Office of His Highness the Crown Prince, retired Lieutenant General Jamal Diab, Deputy Foreign Minister Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, and Kuwait’s Ambassador to the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland, Sadiq Marafi.

The main areas of cooperation include — diversified investment sectors, new opportunities for companies and investors, raising the level of trade exchange between the two countries, joint investment in real estate and infrastructure, diversifying bilateral cooperation in emerging dynamic industries and projects in innovative technology.

Also under the patronage and presence of His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Mishaal Al-Ahmad, a celebration was held to mark the 70th anniversary of the establishment of the Kuwait Investment Office in London, at Lancaster House in the British capital, London.
