Ambassador of the State of Kuwait to India Jassem al Najem has extended his gratitude and deep appreciation to the Government for the assistance provided to help evacuate Kuwaiti citizens who were stranded in India due to the lock down by special Kuwait Airways flights. The flights took off last Friday and Saturday.

Ambassador Jassem said in the fight against the corona pandemic, the government and the people of Kuwait are very thankful to the gesture of the India government by sending a 15 member delegation consisting of health experts besides two tonnes of medical equipments to help Kuwait fight the pandemic.  The team that stayed  In Kuwait for two weeks helped to formulate a comprehensive strategy to fight the virus.  India is also regularly supplying medicine like Paracetamol and food imports to Kuwait, which has been much appreciated, said the Ambassador.

In a press statement issued in New Delhi, the ambassador highlighted the efforts of the Kuwait government to help repatriate foreign nationals including India nationals who were granted amnesty by the Kuwaiti government and had offered to return them to the country free of cost on its own national airlines.

Ambassador Jassem further added that his government was working closely with the India government to implement its massive evacuation plan to help Indian expats who are willing to return to India in light of the coronavirus pandemic and the extraordinary situation prevailing in the world.

It may be mentioned that Ambassador Jassem had earlier lauded the relations between India and Kuwait and said the historic relations between the two countries always seek to development them in wider economic and political domains
