His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah congratulated, on Wednesday, the Kuwaiti people and expatriates on the 59th National Day and 29th Liberation Anniversary.
In a statement to the people, His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah recalled the joyous occasion of the liberation of Kuwait from the seven-month Iraqi occupation in 1990-91, saying that it was a pivotal movement in Kuwait history. He added that the national occasions should be a reminder for all the people of Kuwait to stand together and work hand-in-hand for the welfare and prosperity of the country.
Sheikh Sabah thanked citizens and expatriates for their sincere feelings during the advent of the national occasions and commended government and private bodies for contributions to the celebrations. His Highness the Amir thanked all those who congratulated the Kuwaiti leadership and people from within the country and abroad, saying it was important to remember the sacrifices made by various individuals, both men and women, for the sake of the development and progress of Kuwait.
