Kuwait International Airport resumed normal activity following a decision to suspend operations, which lasted 10 days as a precautionary health measure against the newly emerging coronavirus strain, Al Rai daily reported.
The first was Turkish Airlines flights that arrived from Istanbul carrying about 150 citizens.
The arriving citizens expressed their happiness at their return to the country after being stranded due to the airport suspension for 10 days. The first flight departed for Doha with about 110 passengers on board, while the second headed to Turkey with 120 passengers on board. Today, the airport witnesses more than 60 flights between departures and arrivals to the country.
On the other hand, Al-Qabas reported that the total additional flights that were decided for the return of citizens on Saturday were four flights, three from Dubai and one from Bahrain, while the remaining stranded citizens will return within the 21 scheduled flights.
The source pointed to the daily that Dubai topped the list of popular destinations from where travelers are coming to the country with six flights, followed by Turkey with five flights, then Riyadh, Doha, London and Jordan.
The source stated that arrangements are being made to receive travelers from all destinations and that the equipment operating at the airport is ready to manage the incoming and outgoing flight traffic.
