Kuwait advanced 8 places in the 32nd edition of the Global Financial Centers Index for the year 2022, which is annually issued by the Zyin Research Center (London) and the Chinese Development Institute, among 119 financial centers around the world.

A local Arabic daily said the index analyzes data collected from thousands of financial services specialists through an electronic questionnaire.

Kuwait ranked 108th in the index this year compared to 116th last year, advancing by 8 places.

The Global Financial Centers Index consists of 5 main axes: the business environment, human capital, infrastructure, the development of the financial sector, and the reputation of the center.

Among the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, Dubai topped with 17th in the world, followed by Abu Dhabi in 32nd place, then Doha in third place (57 in world), Manama in fourth place (81), Riyadh in fifth place (98) and Kuwait in sixth place (108).
