The Kuwait Travel & Tourism Agencies Association (KTTAA) made an urgent appeal to the Kuwaiti Government to open the Kuwait International Airport and travel and tourism offices in the country.

KTTAA urges the esteemed government to quickly open Kuwait International Airport, similar to how many countries in the world and the Gulf Cooperation Council countries have started resuming activities at their airports and scheduling their commercial flights. “We request that both Kuwait Airways and Jazeera Airways be allowed to fly during the first stage, and for regular commercial flights to resume, to nearby countries and areas that have recovered from the coronavirus with the implementation of the full health precautions recommended by the World Health Organization.

Many citizens and expats are ready to travel, whether for business or for tourism to resorts, islands and chalets away from the big cities and crowded capitals in addition to the thousands of expats who wish to visit their home countries and their families after a large lockdown period.

This decision would alleviate the great pressure placed on government facilities as tens of thousands of expatriates are fully prepared to travel at the present time but are unable to due to the continued partial suspension of flights. Allowing people to spend time with their families abroad is the best for them at the present time, and this matter if it is introduced would be in line with the esteemed government policy of the necessity of working to reduce pressure on major facilities including hospitals and utilities
