The Republic of Kosovo has sent a military platoon to Kuwait Today, Wednesday. The platoon is sent to participate in the first international peacekeeping mission, Al Qabas reported.

Kosovo has sent the unit on a six-month tour at the request of the US Central Command, and its forces will be under the command of the Iowa National Guard.

The Kosovo Defense Ministry said that the Kosovo unit will operate under the US Central Command, which is responsible for a geographical area that includes the Middle East, part of South Asia, and Northeast Africa.”

The Associated Press stated on its website that no specific details have been announced regarding the exact location in Kuwait or the number of Kosovar peacekeepers to be deployed, and this comes at a time when a platoon of 32 soldiers was seen lining up during the ceremony.
