The Complaints and Social Welfare Committee of the Kuwait National Petroleum Company organized an awareness campaign for foreign workers in the company’s projects, to inform them of their job rights, in accordance with the contracts concluded with them and the Kuwaiti Labor Law.
The campaign lasted for two days, and came under the slogan ‘Know your rights’, and included field tours of contractors’ housing sites in the Mangaf, Mahboula, and Shuaiba Industrial areas, during which meetings were held with workers to educate them about their rights, and what must be done to ensure obtaining them, their duties and obligations.
The committee members also distributed introductory publications and posters in eight different languages — Arabic, English, Korean, Japanese, Hindi, Urdu, Chinese and Tagalog with the objective of putting across the message to the largest possible number foreign workers.
