In celebration of World Press Freedom Day on May 3rd, the Kuwaiti Journalists Association has emphasized the importance of respecting press freedom and providing journalists with a conducive environment to perform their work.
The Board of Directors of the Kuwait Journalists Association emphasized the significance of this occasion in standing with media outlets and supporting them in exercising their right to responsible and professional freedom. According to reports from the Al-Anba daily, the association urged all stakeholders to provide facilities and resources necessary for journalists to do their work without undue interference.
World Press Freedom Day is celebrated annually on May 3rd to commemorate the fundamental principles of press freedom and to pay tribute to journalists who have lost their lives in the line of duty. The theme for this year’s celebration is “Information as a Public Good,” highlighting the critical importance of reliable information and the need to promote transparency and accountability in all aspects of society.
