The Board of Trustees of the Kuwait Institute for Medical Specialties “KIMS” held a meeting yesterday under the chairmanship of the Minister of Health, Dr. Ahmed Al-Awadi. The meeting ended with the adoption of three decisions aimed at preserving the rights of doctors and encouraging continuous professional development. These decisions included:

Providing equality for those who have a masters or diploma who obtained the first part of the Saudi board, which is like the Kuwaiti board. Giving them the right to receive the promotion they deserve.

Reliance on British fellowship certificates for the promotion of doctors who obtained them before the Ministerial Resolution 306/2018 while they are at the top of their work, to include doctors who are Kuwaiti, children of Kuwaiti women, and illegal residents.

Adopting a program to qualify working practitioners of doctors who are working in primary health care centers to be equivalent to a diploma degree thus giving them the right to be promoted.

The Ministry affirmed the keenness of the Minister of Health, Dr. Ahmed Al-Awadi, to achieve equality, provide an appropriate work environment for medical personnel, and develop professional performance. This is one of the basic pillars of the health system, and it aims to improve the level of health services provided to citizens.
