A 7.1-magnitude earthquake hit New Zealand’s Kermadec Islands on Thursday, the US Geological Survey said. The authority estimated that the earthquake occurred at a depth of 10 km. According to the US tsunami warning system, a tsunami warning was issued after the earthquake.
