The Board of Directors of the Public Authority for Manpower is discussing in its meeting, today, Monday the issue of renewing work permits for non-graduate expatriates who have reached the age of 60, and is expected to put a price for renewal of residence permits for non-graduate expatriates who are sixty years and above, including the residence renewal fee and the private health insurance.

Al-Rai quoting sources confirmed there is consensus among the members of the Manpower Board of Directors to resolve the ‘60s’ issue as soon as possible, perhaps during today’s meeting, noting that there is consensus among the members that the prescribed fee should be 250 dinars instead of 500, which is the fee that was approved during the era of the former minister, Dr. Abdullah Al-Salman, and estimated the cost of the initial health insurance policy at about 500 dinars.

Meanwhile, the Health Insurance Hospitals Company ‘Daman’ has reportedly set 130 dinars fee for one year as cost of health insurance for expatriates of all ages, including those who are 60 years and above.

The sources indicated that the health services that will be provided by ‘Daman’ will cover all health services provided in the government sector, but free of charge, meaning that any health service provided to the expatriate will be without any additional money than the specified fee.

Meanwhile, Al-Qabas quoting sources revealed that the expected decision will also include exceptions from the work permit renewal fees for the 60-year-old category — children of Kuwaiti women, those born in Kuwait and holders of Palestinian citizenship.

The sources concluded that those exempt from fees will pay the normal monetary value for the renewal of annual work permit that is 10 dinars and 50 dinars government health insurance.
