Jordan’s King Abdullah II, on Tuesday mourned the passing of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah AlAhmad Al Jaber Al-Sabah, saying his country has lost a “big brother and wise leader.”
“Today we lost a big brother and a wise leader who loved Jordan, His Highness Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad, May God bless his soul. He was an exceptional leader and an Amir of humanity and morals, who devoted his life to the service of his country and the nation”, King Abdullah said on his twitter page as quoted by Jordan’s news agency, Petra.
“He never ceased to make every effort in uniting Arab ranks. We console ourselves and the brotherly Kuwaiti people over this tragic loss,” the king added. Meanwhile, the Royal Hashemite Court expressed its own deepest sympathy and the Jordanian peoples’, saying they stand side by side with the people of Kuwait at this difficult time. Under King Abdullah’s orders, the Court went on to announce 40 days of mourning over the late Amir’s passing from Tuesday.
