The Ministry of Commerce and Industry said 12,279 commercial licenses were issued by the ministry in 2021 amounted, including individual licenses and public and closed joint stock companies.
A local Arabic daily quoting ministry sources stated that the licenses of public and closed joint-stock companies and their branches topped the list of licenses issued last year, about 48% (5,847 licenses); the share of individual commercial licenses was 20%, with 2446 licenses.
The daily added the concentration of licenses for operating and closed joint-stock companies and their branches during the last two months of the year was 2,533 licenses in November and 2,534 licenses in December, while the remaining small percentage was distributed during the rest of the year.
As for individual commercial licenses, they remained active from the beginning of the year until the end of October before stopping during the last two months of the year, while licenses for public companies continued their activity at the beginning and end of the year, while they witnessed a halt during April, May, July, August and December.
