The Public Authority for Manpower, during an inspection campaign targeting car repair workshops issued 15 citations and arrested 35 violating domestic workers, in addition to the arrest of 7 others who are believed to be juveniles. The campaign targeted violators of Article (18) workers.
The Deputy Director-General of the Manpower Protection Sector, Fahd Al-Murad, explained in a press statement the type of violations, foremost of which is the violation of Article (10) and Article (19); the former prohibits the employment of juveniles, those under the age of 15 to and the latter employment of domestic workers, reports Al-Jarida daily.
He stressed that the inspection teams will continue to all legal measures against all those who exploit children in contravention of their rights guaranteed to them by law, pointing out the need for employers to abide by the labor and residence laws, especially those related to the employment of juveniles.
It is noteworthy to mention the inspection campaigns comes as part of the crackdown by the Public Authority for Manpower on loose workers.
The campaign is organised in cooperation with the Joint Committee of the Council of Ministers, with the aim of ensuring that employers and workers comply with the labor and residence laws.
