The inspection campaign carried out by the Traffic Sector of the Ministry of Interior in the Ardhiya Industrial Area to arrest violators of the law, in cooperation with the joint committee led by the Public Authority for Manpower, resulted in the issuance of 692 direct violations in 5 hours, including 362 citations issued by the Public Authority for Manpower Education Department 330 other violations.

Al-Rai quoting security sources said Ministry of the Interior men arrested 12 people, including 7 Kuwaiti minors who were driving without a license and referred them to the Juvenile Prosecution; 3 expatriates who did not have a driver’s license were also arrested, and they were referred to the Traffic Department, and two expatriates were taken to the Al-Ardhiya police station — one of whom reported absconding and the other for violating the residence law.

Director-General, Director of the Department of Planning, Research, Coordination and Follow-up, Brigadier Khaled Mahmoud and the Assistant Director-General, Director of the PAM Education Department, Brigadier General Sheikh Fawaz Al-Khaled, and a number of officers from the traffic sector, in addition to the Chairman of the Joint Committee in the “Manpower” Muhammad Al-Dhafiri, took part in the campaign.

Brigadier Khaled Mahmoud explained that the campaign came upon directives of the Undersecretary of the Traffic and Operations Sector, Major General Jamal Al-Sayegh, who is always keen to see all traffic departments work as a team for the benefit of citizens and residents, and to raise traffic awareness to preserve the lives of motorists from committing violations, whether intentional or unintentional.

Mahmoud pointed out that “Al-Ardiya Industrial Area is considered one of the densely trafficked areas, where the department monitors many serious violations, such as juveniles without driving licenses, in addition to the detection of violations of security and durability conditions, in addition to the failure to renew the vehicle insurance.”

He stressed the campaigns are continuing to protect people and also arrest motorcycle owners who do not hold a driver’s license or who do not adhere to the conditions and instructions to protect all road users.

For his part, Director of the Labor Inspection Department at the Public Authority for Manpower, Dr. Fahd Al-Murad confirmed that “the joint committee, in cooperation with the General Traffic Department, completed the inspection campaigns on consumer demand delivery companies, which are carried out by the Labor Inspection Department represented by the joint committee.”

He added that «the campaign aims to ascertain the extent to which employers and expatriate workers comply with the labor law, especially verifying the actual need for labor registered on employers’ files, and not working for others or in an unspecified work center, where the team was able to seize a number of violators.

He indicated that the campaign was in the Al-Ardhiya Industrial Area, which is one of the areas with a density of restaurants and food supply stores, where a majority of the domestic workers (Article No. 20) are found violating residence laws. They deliver consumer orders, as well as some of the workers who violate the labor law because they are registered on Article No. 18 in the private sector, but they do not work for their sponsor.
