The Director of the Public Relations and Media Department, the official spokeswoman for the Environment Public Authority, Sheikha Al-Ibrahim, confirmed that “the authority is in the process of opening the Jahra Reserve for visitors in the next few days.”

Al-Ibrahim stated told a local Arabic daily, the “Al-Jahra Nature Reserve is one of the first nature reserves in Kuwait, which was established in 1987. Abundant biodiversity, and there are many types of birds and plants, and it has been rehabilitated to contain beautiful scenery and nature.”

She explained that “the reserve will open the way for small and medium enterprises to participate in receiving visitors through mobile cars and booths to present their ideas and market their products.”

There are about 300 species of endemic and migratory birds in the reserve; there is the big spotted eagle in the reserve; there are about 70 species of fungal plants; it has been rehabilitated during the past years to provide a haven for endemic and migratory birds and a team from the Public Relations Department will accompany the visitors on a tour of the reserve.
