The International Women’s Group (IWG) celebrated the end of the year with a gala Christmas dinner on Sunday, 8 December at the Crown Plaza Hotel.  In attendance, were IWG members, women Ambassadors and wives of ambassadors accredited to the State of Kuwait and other prominent women from the Kuwaiti and international community.

The ballroom was beautifully decorated in a Christmas theme, with specially created centerpieces and shimmering Christmas trees that added splendor and radiance to the occasion. Santa Claus was in attendance to give away gifts to all the ladies.

In her address, Anita de Vogel, the IWG president, welcomed the members and guests and congratulated them on the special occasion while wishing them the best of health and happiness.

As part of the festivities, a variety of musical entertainment was organized which included a beautiful fusion of Christmas carols in English and Arabic by Shireen Hattar and performances by a Kuwait Scout band that added to the merriment of the season.

To make it more interactive the whole gathering was invited to join in for a rendition of the ’12 days of Christmas’ which had everyone singing along.

In her vote of thanks, Mrs. De Vogel expressed her gratitude to everyone that contributed to making the evening a success including KLM, Middle East Airlines, Mawasem Wings, Habchi and Chalhoub Co., Embassy of Palestine, Embassy of Netherlands, Australian Embassy, Embassy of Switzerland, Snap Gym, Sanna, Kamelia Al-Mutawa, Al Hasawi Group (Sears), Food Choice Co, White Dental Centre and Jothen Cosmetics.

Mrs. De Vogel also extended special appreciation to the management of the Crown Plaza Hotel, for its cooperation and extraordinary organization of the marvelous event, which included the decorations for the hall and seating areas, and the preparation of delicious cuisine specially prepared for this occasion as well as other special additions that made up a fabulous night.

The evening was filled with entertainment, activities and prizes that ensured everyone had a great time.
