Essam Al-Khashnam, CEO of the International Integrated Computer Systems Group (ITS), said the Communications and Information Technology Authority (CITRA) has granted the company the license to provide and manage cloud computing services for the business sector, private hosting solutions, and hosting systems and devices, the first of its kind in Kuwait.
He added that this comes at a time when the authority recently issued a decree imposing new protection regulations for storing and protecting confidential and sensitive government data on cloud servers.
He went on to say, “Our new licensed cloud services, which will be provided in cooperation with our local and international partners, through the new and unique data center located in Kuwait, will work alongside the Kuwaiti third-level data center,” noting that the necessary infrastructure for storing commercial and government data will also be provided, sensitive information in a secure manner, ensuring complete privacy and providing all data protection requirements.
He stated that this matter will make ITS a strategic center to serve all government agencies, including ministries, oil companies, associations and government agencies, the Central Bank of Kuwait, financial institutions, the banking sector and the private sector in general.
Marwan Khalaf, Senior Director of Technical Support Services in the company, said, “The strategic direction towards cloud services globally, with its ability to spread and presence at the international level, will provide customers with the possibility of expansion and efficient calculations, through its distinguished capabilities and infrastructure. A reliable data center infrastructure, paving the way for the flexible integration of digital business processes within public and private clouds.”
