In a new Iranian escalation, following the Iranian Foreign Ministry’s statement a few days ago, in which it objected to the agreement between Kuwait and Saudi Arabia to develop the Dorra field Iranian Oil Minister Javad Oji announced that comprehensive studies on the Dorra field (Arsh according to the Iranian name) have been completed, and soon the installation of equipment for drilling operations will begin.

In a tweet on his Twitter account, Oji reiterated Iran’s readiness to negotiate with Kuwait and Saudi Arabia, noting that “unilateral initiatives (in reference to the Kuwait and Saudi agreement) do not prevent the implementation of our plan,” reports a local Arabic daily.

Iran considered the Kuwaiti-Saudi agreement an “illegal step”, and declared that it “reserves the right to exploit it.”
