While some electronics companies have begin receiving pre-orders for the purchase of new iPhone 14 devices, other companies began to launch modern models from Apple in small quantities a few hours ago, in order to meet the aspirations of the American brand’s in the local market to be among the first owners of their phones in the midst of a rise in prices and a scarcity of available quantities, as usual every year.
In this context, Tariq Boufakhruddin, General Manager of Sales at Eureka Electronics, said that the prices on the first day of launching the device in the local market are considered high due to the high cost of companies, the high cost of shipping, and the keenness to provide devices to former customers in Kuwait, even in small quantities, reports a local Arabic daily.
Bufakhruddin added that prices are expected to become normal within 10 days of the device being available in showrooms, which is what Apple customers are accustomed to every year.
For his part, the CEO of one of the companies said that the competition for the “iPhone 14” is great, amid the disparity in prices between companies that differ according to the source from which the devices were purchased, their availability and capacities.
He explained that some companies were keen to limit their orders to “iPhone 14 Pro” and “Promax” without providing the regular version of the new phones, revealing a shortage in large capacities ranging between 512 GB and 1 TB.
He added that the price of the “iPhone 14 Pro” with a capacity of 128 GB reached about 550 dinars, compared to 590 dinars for a capacity of 256 GB, while the prices of “Promax” 128 GB start from 615 dinars and reach 650 dinars for a capacity of 256 GB.
He expected that prices would decrease by 30 to 40 dinars tomorrow, Saturday, and by about 100 dinars in the coming days, according to the quantities that will reach the local market, respectively.
