The Public Prosecution has begun investigations into the suicide of the Indian expatriate who had committed the heinous crime of Ardhiya by murdering an entire Kuwaiti family and it was discovered on March 4.

A security source said the Interior Ministry, in the meantime, is in the process of opening another investigation with the aim of finding how the suspect who was referred to solitary confinement managed to make a makeshift gallows inside his cell in the Central Prison using his clothes and hanged himself to death.

The source added that a number of officers who were on duty at the time of the suicide are being summoned for interrogation and face disciplinary action if found guilty.

On the other hand, a legal source confirmed told the daily the criminal case ends with the death of the accused, and that the heirs have the right to demand compensation from his relatives according to the text of Article 102 of the Code of Criminal Procedures and Trials.
