The Director General of the Public Relations and Security Media Department at the Ministry of Interior, Brigadier-General Tawhid Al-Kandari, has revealed the security plan for the holy month of Ramadan saying securitymen will be deployed to protect worshipers, regulate traffic and maintain market security.

In an exclusive statement to a local Arabic daily, Al-Kandari said the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, retired Lieutenant-General Sheikh Ahmed Al-Nawaf, and the Undersecretary of the Ministry, Lieutenant-General Anwar Al-Barjas, have issued instructions which stipulate the necessity of security deployment during the blessed month of Ramadan, to protect worshipers in mosques and places of worship to practice their rituals in all tranquility, and the distribution of traffic patrols, to organize and facilitate traffic in the main roads and malls, in addition to providing public security and emergency patrols in markets across the country.

He added that among the plan is the deployment of residence affairs detectives, to keep an eye on residence law violators, monitor any negative phenomena including beggary, arrest and deport them from the country, and register a case against their sponsors.

Al-Kandari concluded by calling on everyone to remain committed and cooperate with the security men, who ensure the comfort of citizens and residents in the country especially in areas such as markets places to prevent quarrels or other illegal practices.
