The Ministry of Interior sectors participated in a study on the phenomenon of fights and violence in society, in a meeting chaired by the Acting Assistant Undersecretary for Education and Training Affairs Sector at the Ministry of Interior, Major-General Nasser Bouresli.

The purpose of the meeting, the Al-Jarida daily said, was to develop take immediate calculated measures by the security authorities to confront this phenomenon. The reports prepared by the relevant sectors on the causes of the spread of this phenomenon came up for discussion during the meeting in addition to how to deal with such issues and what measures to be taken to confront and eliminate it.

The ministry said in a statement it has been decided to take a set of measures to confront this phenomenon, including introducing foot patrols in areas where gatherings and crimes happen on a wider scale, and using mounted police to cover places with long and narrow lanes or where obstacles hamper vehicle movement; publishing periodicals in areas of youth gatherings; using modern technology to detect and monitor gathering places, such as drones and surveillance cameras.

This is in addition to effective police presence and deployment within the premises around the clock, enhancing cooperation between various Ministry of Interior sectors and participation of committees to establish security and enforce the law, in a manner that it does not affect the nature of the basic work of the security man.
