First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Lieutenant-General Sheikh Ahmed Al-Nawaf has stressed that the current stage requires caution and vigilance and recommended all areas to be covered with CCTV cameras.

This he said while presiding over a security meeting, in the presence of the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior, Lieutenant-General Anwar Al-Barjas, and assistant undersecretaries and directors-general to discuss the work mechanism and the level of coordination and readiness between the security sectors to apply the law with a single rule to all, reports a local Arabic daily.

In a related context, sources told the daily the Ministry of Interior has asked the banks to speed up linking the security camera and automated warning systems in banks with the ministry’s Emergency Operations Room (112) for the sake of security.

The sources indicated that the Ministry of the Interior’s move in this regard comes with the aim of reducing the response time of security men, between the communication and arriving at the scene of the incident, since there had been more than one case of armed robbery, the last of which was on October 26, 2021, and therefore linking the security system will contribute to increasing the effectiveness of the rapid security response.

In addition, it is considered part of the implementation of Law 61 of 2015 regarding the organization and installation of cameras and security monitoring devices.
